Why are some companys like this?

Right now we are having a snow Blizzard here in Pa..the grocery store that i work for is open but not busy at all..there's only 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot at a time..I don't understand why they just don't go ahead and close..Don't these grocery stores care about there employee's who have to drive in this stuff..Right now we have 7 inches on the ground..and it should stop snowing on sunday early morning around 7am...the grocery store closes at 11pm..why are they so money hungry for that dollar in there customers pocket?...why don't they consider there employee's being on the slippery snowy road?
