Why do UAF members act like thugs?

Last week my cousin was attacked by UAF members. Why? you ask. He was wearing a jumper that had the letters BWP on it. How does he know they where UAF? while they attacked him like cowards they said " Die Fascist s" "UAF power" "Smash the Nazi" Why do they act like thugs? Are they illiterate or just on drugs? Will they be so tough next time when they are on the receiving end of a beat down? There was 5 of them on one. BWP stands for born without purpose, his bands name.
