Why does the United States support Pakistan?

Because they help us fight terrorism. They aren't perfect(neither is Saudi Arabia or China) but we will continue to do business with them because it is in our economic or safety interests to do so. It really is that simple. If we refused to deal with countries that did things we didn't approve of we'd very quickly run out of any allies at all.
